Hafiz Ahmed Mazumdar MP

 

Hafiz Mazumdar Trust was established in Januray 1985. The aim of establishing Hafiz Mazumdar Trust was to reach out to the remote areas and to the rural population for upliftment of general standard of education and health.

Hafiz Mazumdar Trust started its activities in one of the remote areas of Bangladesh comprising Zakiganj and a portion of Kanaighat Thana. The Trust mainly focused its activities on education sector in those areas considered to be lagging behind in education.

About 150 primary schools and 24 secondary schools in the project area were brought under the support umbrella of the Trust. Besides providing financial and other assistance to the existing educational institutions, Hafiz Mazumdar Trust has established 4 high schools and one Women’s College in the project area from the Trust resources.

 

 

 

Some of the activities that the Trust has so far undertaken are:

  1. a) Awarding stipends by selecting meritorious students.
  2. b) Awarding stipends, financial and other assistance to poor and meritorious students. through annual prize distribution and certificate awarding ceremonies.
  3. c) Providing financial assistance to financially weak educational institutes in the project area.
  4. d) Organizing inter-school competitions on co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.
  5. e) The Trust organizes study tours and picnics for the students.
  6. f) Provide medical facilities to the poor people.

The Trust has so long devoted all its efforts on development and establishment of educational institutions in one of the less developed areas of the country, ie, Zakiganj and part of Kanaighat Thana.

In the year 2002 Hafiz Mazumdar Trust embarked on the second phase of its mission of providing facilities for quality education of international standard to our new generation. Modern education system with solid English base is essential for our children to compete in the world of technological excellence. This idea inspired the Trust to set up six most modern educational institutions of international standard in Sylhet.

Preamble:

Hafiz Mazumdar Trust was established in 1985 by an eminent educationalist, philanthropist Hafiz Mazumdar to promote quality education to the disadvantaged and particularly underprivileged children. Trust initially set up a number of primary, secondary schools and a college in Zakigonj and later expanded its operation in Sylhet with the establishment of a collegiate school under the brand name of “scholarshome” in 2002. The collegiate school was shifted to a 5-storied purpose built premises in 2005. National curriculam is followed as courses of study. The first preparatory school started in the old premises at Electric Supply Road from playgroup to standard-V in 2005. In 2009, the second preparotoryschool commenced functioning at Shibgonj. In January, 2010 the fourth Scholarshome campus having preparatory section (playgroup- standard-V), Secondary section (standard VI-X) and higher secondary section (XI-XII) was inaugurated in its own premises (66000 sft floor space) at Pathantula. In January 2013 the fifth Scholarshome Campus was established from playgroup to Class XII. inMajortila and Sixth Campus from Playgroup to Class VIII in DakhinSurma. The preparatory schools are feeder institutions for senior campuses at ShahiEidgah, Pathantula&Majortila. Six campuses have a total accomodation of nearly Six thousand students. Scholarshome aims to extend its academic functions to incorporate university level education offering both undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Science, Social Science and Technology in the future.

* To create a suitable environment for the foundation stage of education and help child’s early development & learning.

Our aims:

To deliver an accredited National Curriculum developing key learning skills such as listening, reading, speaking, writing and numeracy etc. To create a strong bond among guardians, teachers, academic council and other stakeholders for achieving the desired objectives.

*All the campuses of Scholarshome are headed by experienced Principals and Vice Principals having adequate knowledge and expertise in public school management.

*To improve professional skill among teachers are provided with weekly in-service training.

Academic Council:

Scholarshome schools and colleges are projects of Hafiz Mazumdar Trust. Trust governing body has commissioned an Academic council composed of eminent educationists to formulate, promote and implement curricular and co-curricular functions.

Teachers-Guardians Consultative meeting: Regular meetings between teachers and guardians are held to discuss progress of individual students- usually after term results are published. However in special circumstances the school academic head meets with guardians to address specific issues.

Admission:

Admission into different classes commence from November/December for playgroup to class IX and June-July for Class XI. Prescribed application forms are available from the offices of rspective campuses. Information about School Uniforms: Uniform (Boys):

From Class IV-V:

Navy-blue kamiz with shirt collar, white salwar, white orna, white waist belt, white socks, black shoes, shoulder badge, sticker and school logo, Length of kamiz should be 3″ below the knee. Navy-blue cardigan (for winter season only)

From Class-VI-XII:
