Principal’s Message

We are in the era of the irresistible process of globalization. Revolutionary technological advancement is taking place all over the world, and Bangladesh is no exception to rapid change. English continues to be the only internationally accepted language for communication. Command over English is absolutely essential to participate in the process of globalization and to keep pace with technological developments.

There are a number of English-medium schools throughout the country, but most of them follow the British system of education. Only Cadet Colleges and a few English-medium schools and colleges under the National Curriculum are concentrated in Dhaka. As a result, most students outside Dhaka are deprived of the opportunity to study in English under the National Curriculum.

To overcome the shortage of English-version colleges under the National Curriculum in Sylhet, Hafiz Mazumdar Trust came forward to establish SCHOLARSHOME Electric Supply—now relocated to Shahi Eidgah—in 2002. In that sequence, SCHOLARSHOME MAJORTILA COLLEGE was inaugurated in 2013 with both Bangla and English versions as media of instruction. This campus began its journey with a team of young, energetic and enthusiastic teachers who inspired numerous students to dream of outstanding results. It was a glorious beginning that continues to inspire us.

The world is an ever-changing place. New ideas, new methods, and advances in science and technology are the leading forces. Therefore, connecting learners with global knowledge is a priority of our college. Our foremost goal is to prepare each student to become a smart citizen and a skilled participant in global competition as our country moves towards Smart Bangladesh.

No person can be truly sensible and praiseworthy without nurturing love for their own culture, awareness of the nation’s history, respect for traditions, and an appreciation of literature. For the successful psychological and social development of our students, we supervise co-curricular activities with high standards and efficiency.
